Advanced Training

Advanced Group Skills

Emerge conducts a two-day Advanced Training twice per year.

NOTE: All trainings will be conducted via Zoom for the foreseeable future.

The next advanced training dates are TBD.

Who should attend?
This training is designed for people who have experience leading abuse education groups. At this training, participants will grapple with the complexities of group leadership, learn new skills and interventions, and tackle cutting edge issues in the overall field of abuse education.

The advanced training uses videos of live group sessions at Emerge. Topics include:
  • Broadening the role of abuse education programs as resources in the community
  • 14 ways to enhance client engagement and accountability
  • Cultural adaptation of engagement and accountability strategies to particular populations
  • Examining the strengths, weaknesses, and compatibility of nine group leader styles
  • Challenging cases encountered when working with those who abuse
  • Building parenting awareness for those who abuse
  • Heterosexual women who use force
  • Responding to difficult questions from clients
  • Risk assessment and management

This training would be beneficial to those who use any model for intimate partner abuse education.

Tuition
Course tuition is $200 per person. 13 continuing education credits are offered.
